Experience:
Laura graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in English, and has
over 15 years of human resources management and training/development experience
working in a variety of industries. She began her career in the non-profit sector
as a training and development professional, then moved into customer service
and training with the Walt Disney Company. Laura joined SunTrust Bank, one of
the top ten financial institutions in the United States, in 1993. She was the
employment manager and human resources director before being promoted into the
corporate position of human resources relationship manager supporting the West
Florida region and the Florida’s Commercial Line of Business.
Laura has held the Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR) since
1989. In 2002, she attained national certification as a Senior Professional in
Human Resources (SPHR) through the Society for Human Resources Management and
graduated from Coach University with over 200 hours of related training.
Current Projects:
Think Bigger Consulting Group provides specialty Human Resources consulting and
coaching solutions to multiple industries. Combining people and business expertise
with highly successful project management skills, we excel at creative thinking
and the leveraging of talent to drive business success. Recent projects have
included recruiting an executive director for a non-profit family foundation,
strategic teambuilding for a municipality, building HR infrastructure for a start-up
bank, and creating team coaching curriculum for a large planning and engineering
firm.
Insights into Laura:
Laura founded her business believing that relationships and thinking beyond the
traditional are the keys to solving any challenge. She loves helping others define
their own solutions and is passionate about conservation issues large and small.
Laura is newly married and “mom” to two Golden Retrievers.
